If you're not in the mood to throw every acid and vitamin in the book at your pigmentation, Chloe Pierre, founder of inclusive health brand thy.self, has you covered with her DIY face mask recipe.
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp turmeric, fresh or powdered (juiced or pressed)
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
combine with water to form a paste
1 tbsp honey or 1/2 avocado, beaten if you've used freshly squeezed turmeric
HOW THIS WORKS:
'My go-to face mask recipe contains only a few drops of fresh turmeric and lemon juice to target hyperpigmentation,' Pierre reveals. 'Over a four-week period, turmeric as an ingredient has been clinically proved to address hyperpigmentation, minimize skin irritation, and wrinkles. It's worth noting that turmeric is a root vegetable native to India and South Asia. It is a ginger relative.'
Simply combine, apply to targeted areas (wearing gloves protects your hands), and leave on for three minutes before rinsing. To see benefits, repeat at least twice a week for five weeks.
