Hydrate and Nourish Your Face with A DIY Face Mask of Avocado, Honey and Oats

A flaky forehead isn't attractive, but if your current moisturizer isn't doing anything to hydrate your skin, try this homemade hydrating face mask.

Find out how to automatically make your own face mask at home with the Ellixi face mask maker machine kit.

WHAT YOU WILL REQUIRE:

- A half avocado
- Honey (1 tablespoon)
- A handful of oats

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Yes, it does sound like an Instagram-worthy breakfast (after all, who doesn't adore avocado toast?) But hold off on scoffing the ingredients for a moment; they'll work much better all over your face.

Honey is an excellent humectant, which means it helps skin retain moisture without feeling oily, according to Clean Beauty co-founder Dominika Minarovic - but that's not all. 'It's a miracle ingredient,' Dominika says. 'It helps with the look of scars and enhances both healing and tissue regeneration when massaged into damaged regions.'

What if you want to take your face mask game to the next level? Combine it with oats, a component that even Aveeno and Garnier include in their moisturizers.

Dominika explains, 'Oats have healing and moisturizing characteristics.' 'They're also great for nourishing, calming, and soothing the skin.'

The inclusion of mashed avocado will also eradicate any roughness, leaving your skin silky smooth, thanks to the ultra-nourishing oils. If you don't have any, 3 tablespoons of milk will suffice.

'Adding milk, which contains lactic acid, will gently exfoliate the skin while whitening it without causing irritation,' says Lorraine Scrivener, skin expert, and director of Eden Skin Clinic.
